1. My water is brown and/or smells funny, what do I do?

Sometimes, just running your water for a few minutes will clear up discolored water problem. Please call Public Utilities at 830-875-2469 to dispatch the Water Department to your residence to test the quality of the water if you find this to be a consistent problem.

2. I see a fire hydrant putting out a lot of water, why is the City wasting water?

The Water Department flushes fire hydrants on a monthly basis to maintain the clearance of water lines. This allows any build up of dirt or rocks in the main water lines to be flushed out.

3. I have low water pressure, who do I call?

Please call Public Utilities at 830-875-2469 to report a low water pressure problem. The Utility clerk may be able to give you information of a water leak being worked on in your area that may be causing you to have low water pressure, or will be able to dispatch the Water Department to your residence to locate a different problem. After hours, please call 830-875-2411.

4. I see water bubbling out of the street, who do I call?

Please call Public Utilities at 830-875-2469 to report any water bubbling out of a city street. After hours, please call 830-875-2411.

5. I'm making plumbing repairs and I need my water turned off.

Every household should have their own customer cut-off valve for any inside plumbing repairs. If you need the City to turn off/on your water, a fee may be applied to your utility bill. Please call Public Utilities at 830-875-2469 if you need assistance.
